Ras Al-Khaimah Marathon for People of Determination Draws Widespread Participation
Ras Al-Khaimah, December 24 /WAM/ - The second edition of the Marathon for People of Determination took place in Ras Al-Khaimah under the patronage of Sheikh Engineer Salem bin Sultan bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ras Al-Khaimah International Airport. The event was organized by the Acacia Public Relations and Event Management Foundation.
Held along the scenic Qawasim Corniche, the marathon attracted participants from various centers for people of determination across Ras Al-Khaimah and beyond, as well as students from local schools.
The event was graced by the presence of several prominent figures, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development in Ras Al-Khaimah; Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqr Al-Qasimi; Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Sarour Al-Sharqi; Sheikh Hamid bin Khalid Al-Qasimi; Sheikha Dr. Hind bint Abdulaziz Al-Qasimi, President and Founder of the Emirates International Business Club; and Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al-Mualla. A diverse group of officials, businessmen, community leaders, and participants from all age groups were also in attendance.
Mona Al-Awani, a renowned media personality and Director/Founder of Acacia Public Relations and Event Management, shared that the marathon was conceived as a community initiative aimed at promoting athletic competition among people of determination. The event provided participants with both tangible and emotional support, encouraging them to overcome challenges and integrate seamlessly with other segments of society.
Al-Awani expressed her delight at the success of the marathon, describing it as a distinguished humanitarian sports event that reflects noble values. She commended the remarkable interaction and participation from various age groups and genders, highlighting the collective spirit of unity and resilience.
