The Department of Civil Aviation, Ras Al Khaimah is pleased to partner with RAK Municipality for the innovators challenge initiative held on 24th February 2021 via webinar as part of the innovation week in February. The event was attended by many RAK government officials and students from many educational institutes of RAK.
This partnership between the 2 government departments is to foster innovative ideas for the development of the emirate. The basic objective is to enhance communication and cooperation with educational institutes in varied fields, so they can all participate as students as well as societal members regularly in innovative endeavors and implement those ideas into the future development of Ras Al Khaimah.
H.E. Engr. Salem Sultan Al-Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport, board member of General Civil Aviation Authority & RAK Executive Council expressed his joy as he welcomed the out of the box thinking strategy through this initiative.
“We are ready to build a foundation of youth energies that dwells on creativity, knowledge, unity and the young minds of tomorrow to develop a society that overcomes the impossible. Creativity is the possibilities of achieving something first, whereas innovation is the practical reality, despite challenges. Creativity and innovation go hand in hand and is believed to be the single most important skill for the future. So, go ahead and utilize all your senses and develop keen observations of things around you. I take this opportunity to present my best wishes to both the teams at RAKDCA and RAK Municipality and look forward to creative sessions together,” said H.E, Chairman RAKDCA.
The Director-General of Ras Al-Khaimah Municipality Department, His Excellency Munther bin Shukr, also expressed that this initiative encourages young people to learn about the future needs and aspirations of Ras Al-Khaimah and improving the quality of life. He added that, “despite the challenges we face in the current circumstances of the Corona pandemic, creativity and innovation go hand in hand to embody and apply the concepts of future foresight and moving forward”.
